It is rewarding to be part of a network that can produce (to my knowledge) the first scientifically published African swine fever (ASF) freedom model.

We could not make this model work without the valuable contribution made by swine-herd veterinarians that have participated in the surveys each quarter since 2019. In particular the part of the survey where they provided the number of contacts with swine premises and the number of premises their practice served.

It was critical for the model to have quarterly the quarterly surveys, the laboratory data on pathological lab-cases and ASF testing.
